Set up Free Membership

Create a free membership signup using a Keap web form with automatic login and password generation.

Create the Campaign

1. Log into your Keap application

2. Go to Marketing > Automation Builder

3. Click Create your own

4. Name your campaign (e.g., “Free Membership Signup”) and select optionally a category

5. Click Save

Create the Web Form

1. Drag the Web Form submitted button onto the canvas

2. Double-click to configure the form

3. Add the fields you need (name, email, etc.)

4. Click the Thank-you Page tab

5. Select Web address from the dropdown

6. Enter the autologin URL:

   URL

   https://yourdomain.com/?i4w_autologin=XXXXXX&force_login=XXXXXX&tid=TAG_ID&redir=https://yourdomain.com

   Replace:

   • yourdomain.com with your website domain
   • XXXXXX with your security key defined in Plugin Options > Main Settings
   • TAG_ID with your free membership tag ID (only one tag ID allowed)

7. Check “Pass Contact’s information to the thank-you page”

8. (Optional) In the Settings tab, add your email for form submission notifications

9. Click Ready to mark the form ready

Create the Membership Sequence

1. Click the Back icon to get back to the automation builder

2. Drag a Sequence button onto the canvas

3. Name it (e.g., “Free Membership Setup”)

4. Connect the web form to the sequence with an arrow

5. Double-click the sequence to open it

Add Membership Tag

1. Drag Apply/Remove Tag into the sequence

2. Double-click to configure

3. Select your free membership tag

4. Click Save

Generate Password

1. Drag Send HTTP Post into the sequence

2. Double-click to configure

3. Enter the URL:

   URL

   https://yourdomain.com/?i4w_genpass=XXXXXX

   Replace:

   • yourdomain.com with your website domain
   • XXXXXX with your security key defined in Plugin Options > Main Settings

4. Ensure Name/Value Pairs includes the contact ID

5. Click the Back icon to get back to the sequence

Create Welcome Email

1. Drag an Email button into the sequence

2. Double-click to configure

3. Create your welcome email with login details:

   Sample Email

   Hi ~Contact.FirstName~,
   
   Welcome to our free membership!
   
   Here are your login details:
   URL: https://yourdomain.com
   Username: ~Contact.Email~
   Password: ~Contact.Password~
   
   Thank you,
   ~Owner.Signature~

4. Click Ready

5. Click the Back icon to get back to the sequence

6. Connect the sequence elements accordingly

7. Mark the sequence as Ready

Publish and Test

1. Click the Back icon to get back to the automation

2. Click Publish

3. Double-click the web form, go to the Code tab

4. Copy the HTML code and add it to your WordPress site

5. Test the signup:

   • Fill out the form on your website
   • Verify automatic login works
   • Check for the welcome email with login details
   • Verify the contact in Keap has the correct tag and password
